Madawaska Soccer Park: Dedicated Field Petition

We are petitioning the Madawaska Valley for allocation of a field suitable for community soccer. Please consider signing for STAGE1 below. Our vision is a multi-stage project.

STAGE 1: a field suitable for outdoor soccer with lighting and irrigation.

STAGE 2: the building of a multi-sport facility (pickle ball, badminton, squash, basketball, climbing wall) with walking/jogging track and features to facilitate senior health and living.

STAGE 3: building expansion with a swimming pool that allows for year-round activities, including indoor kayak development and indoor green common space with a health food juice bar.

This effort will require: organization (core + volunteers),  donation appeals, Trillium Grants, Community Sport and Infrastructure Funds, persistence and clear vision.

Personally I know two people who have successfully done this — Petrie Island Canoe Club in Ottawa area and the Altona Soccer Park in Saskatchewan. I know the chief engineer for Steelway, a top-tier company in Aylmer, Ontario that build exactly these types of facilities at all price-points. So that’s a start.

Please sign this petition (STAGE 1) if you are a player or a supporter of not just local soccer but the vision to build-out infrastructure to improve healthy living in our community. Please spread the word. Ideally I wish to submit 1000 signatures by May 8th. Some “concept” photos are shown here.

A note from coach Rob Hardy:

I'm excited to officially open registration for our upcoming player development sessions in the Bancroft and Barry's Bay area.

Elite Path Soccer is designed to provide players with high-quality coaching in a positive, energetic, and enjoyable environment. Sessions focus on technical development, tactical understanding, confidence, decision-making, and helping players become more complete footballers.

I bring experience from England, having achieved my FA Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualifications through West Ham United and coached at U16, U18 and Reserve Team level within the National League South and Isthmian Premier Division.

Elite Path Soccer is officially rolling into its next phase, and I’m excited to open registration for the June–October season.

This year we’re not just turning up for random sessions. We’re building players through a structured monthly pathway designed to develop real game confidence, technical ability, and decision-making under pressure.

Each month has a clear focus:

  • June - (Kickoff Month) – Getting everyone settled, building the base, lots of touches, lots of fun
  • July – Fast Feet Month – Ball mastery, tight control, 1v1 ability, quick reactions
  • August – Play Through Month – Passing patterns, movement, playing out under pressure
  • September – The Pressure Month – Winning duels, intensity, defending, competing harder
  • October – No Panic Month – Composure, decision-making, finishing, playing calm in chaos

Each session will be built around that monthly theme so players aren’t just training… they’re progressing.

This program is built to be simple, consistent, and focused on real improvement. Turn up, put in the work, and you’ll see the difference over time.

Looking forward to getting started.

Tri-County League Victory For Barry's Bay Blacks

Two fine matches against two fine teams. August 10, 2025 was a 7-2 win against Haliburton followed by a 4-0 victory against Bancroft on August 17, 2025.

The Blacks ended the season undefeated with a 31 goal differential. Remarkable considering they had no access to a full field this summer. Thanks for the memories and to Mytch and all who organized and participated in the Tri-County League!

Become A League Sponsor

We are currently looking for sponsors in exchange for online advertising (here) and event banner advertising during our games. As we have had to schedule two separate days for all the teams to play this season we need to purchase 2 more Futsal goals so that each team captain can have their own goal net.

Our aim is to generate $800 for this cause to help keep our community league going. A season "banner ad + link" sponsorship is $200 from May to August and can be renewed again, at a 10% discount, for September to April.

A "flag sponsorship" with the above plus a custom event flag (which we can design+order for you and which will be displayed at each game and you can use elsewhere) is $500. Examples below.

Sponsor Opportunities

Sponsorship is open to local government branches or projects therein desiring healthy community exposure, open to local firms and organizations -- that reflect the league's mission and T.O.S (terms of service) to promote healthy family life, fair play, and the building of a culture of life to which sport is integral.
